Mindfulness doesn’t come easily to everyone. Sometimes you need a gentle reminder to journal, make time for meditation, or monitor your moods. Matt Wallaert, a behavioral scientist at the search engine company Bing, reminds us that there’s a long tradition of using technology in the service of spiritual practice.
“Even the earliest spiritual practition-ers of meditation used external tools to help them, whether it was focusing on something in nature or prayer beads,” he explains.
Whether staying connected to your routine or easing into a new practice, the recent proliferation of health-and-wellness apps gives smartphone and tablet users a variety of affordable downloads to sample.
At Ease. Guided breathing exercises aim to ease anxiety; a journaling option allows you to track how well each session reduces stress. $2.99 for both iPhone and Android at meditationoasis.com/smartphone-apps.
Optimism. This action plan app helps you develop and monitor strategies for improving overall mood and monitoring symptoms of conditions like depression and anxiety. Free for iPhone and Android at findingoptimism.com.
Relaxing Nature Sounds. This popular app features 70 relaxing sounds to help with meditation, sleep, or physiotherapy. 99 cents for iPhone at rtstudio.net/NatureSounds.html.
Chakra Meditation. A beautiful interactive animation allows you to follow along visually while listening to a calming narration. $2.99 for iPhone or Android at saagara.com/apps/chakra-meditation-app.
Relax & Sleep Well by Glenn Harrold. Narrated by the well-known author, this self-hypnosis app helps to alleviate stress and soothe you to sleep. Free for iPhone at i-mobilize.com/relax-sleep-well-by-glenn-harrold.

What to do during the shifts you are feeling

This was an article that I posted in our October Newsletter. I'm posting it here to give you the ability to share your techniques in the comments. Thank you for supporting

What to do during the shifts you are feeling

As you can tell, feel or see, changes are happening fast and some of you may be having a difficulty with that. Personally I have had moments of dizziness, confusion and exhaustion, just to name a few. I have also heard from others that they have had difficulty sleeping, financial issues, emotional bouts, crying for no reason or bursts of anger. Behavior that is not in the norm for them.

What is happening, is you,  the physical being, are going through energetic shifts on all levels of your energy bodies. Emotional, physical, mental, auric, spirit, energetic, so you need to treat all these areas to feel relief and bring them all into a balance and alignment.

Here are some suggestions:
Take time out away from people. You may be very sensitive to energy and empathic so you may pick up on what someone else is going through and add to your own experience. Retreat for a day, at least, then get back out there the next. Day on, day off. Allow yourself this down time.

Cleanse your physical body with sea salt. This also cleanses your energy bodies as well. This helps ground you to Earth energy and Water energy. Possibly take a salt bath if you can.

Foot Reflexology. This has been a thing that is working for me. During our shifting moments, your "energy" may hover above your physical body so that the reconfigurations can take place with the physical body vessel, but this can be a challenging time for some. With the reflexology, it helps your energy body connect with your physical body and helps them merge. Have your reflexologist focus on pulling the energy down, and out the base of your feet.

Aromatherapy. Lavender, Sage, Sandalwood and Nag Champa are good earthy scents that help ground your energy. Smell these aromas to help you ground your energy

Energy Work. Have an energy worker help align and balance your energy bodies. This is the best thing but not everyone has an energy worker on hand.

Cry. Crying is a release and this helps very much so. Sometimes we don't need a reason to cry, just do it. You will feel much better after you do.

My personal regime has been, putting a cold compress on my forehead, covering my eyes from the light, taking some ibuprophen and then having my feet rubbed.

And during all this, REST! Your body is going through similar exhaustion that a gym workout would put you through, so rest is KEY! This allows you to give the time for your energy to integrate into the cells and DNA which then allows for the shifts to not hit you so hard. So going to bed a little earlier than usual would be a good idea.

I am going to put this subject on the State of Being Wellness blog so if any of you have other suggestions, please submit them. Every little bit helps

Much love everyone

5 Foods that help you Sleep

Article on Yahoo Health posted by

Thursday, September 19, 2013

Sleep restores us. And not getting enough of it can put us at greater risk of heart disease and cancer. Sleep even makes us smarter. Yet researchers are finding that more than 10 percent of the population is chronically sleep deprived. If you're having trouble slipping into -- and remaining in -- Dreamland, don't dart straight to prescription sleep drugs, which can be habit-forming, harmful if you live with certain conditions, and even downright bizarre! (Some people develop sleep-eating and sleep-driving habits when using prescription sleeping pills.) The good news is, science has found that many foods, drinks, herbs, and other natural sleep aids can help put you to sleep...naturally. In fact, just this summer, researchers made the connection between tart cherry juice and getting adequate shut-eye. Here are some natural food- and drink-based sleep aids.

Fish
Certain fish and sea creatures contain sleep-inducing tryptophan, including shrimp, cod, tuna, and halibut. But since not all seafood choices are healthy for us (some are high in contaminants) or for the planet (many are overfished, or methods for catching them kill other species), stick to catches like Pacific cod from Alaska or pole-caught Albacore tuna from the U.S. or British Columbia.

Carb/Protein Combo
If keeping track of the latest safe seafood guidelines is too complicated, you can get your tryptophan fix from other things. You've probably heard that warm milk can help you sleep, since milk contains tryptophan. But the key is to combine carbs with a protein containing tryptophan to help your body better utilize the sleep inducer. Try pairing a cup of whole grain cereal with organic milk before bedtime.

Lemon Balm
This lemon-scented member of the mint family has been a sleep-inducing superstar for ages. Other benefits include better digestion and decreased agitation. Try making lemon balm tea by steeping 1 to 2 teaspoons of the dried herb in 1 cup of hot water for 5 to 10 minutes. (If you take thyroid meds, talk to you doctor...drinking the tea could mean you'll have to adjust your dosage.)

Other Herbs
If lemon balm's not your thing, another herb, sage, also works as a natural sleep aid. Just steep 4 tablespoons in a cup of hot water, steep for four hours, strain, and reheat to drink. Chamomile tea and valerian teas, other sleep inducers, are also more widely available pre-bagged in natural food stores, if you don't want to fuss with the aforementioned straining herbs. For even more ways to naturally find your way to better sleeping patterns, check out Prevention magazine's 100 Ways to Sleep Better.

 Cherries
In the small study, participants drank eight ounces of the tart cherry (also known as sour cherry) juice in the morning, and another eight ounces in the evening, for two weeks and reported better sleeping habits. Since all cherries are naturally high in melatonin, a compound that makes us sleepy, you can try eating a cup as a snack before it's time for shut-eye if you'd rather not drink the juice.

The Silent Treatment

I seriously have to laugh. My husband and I were just discussing why I turned off the T.V. set. I said that I like the quiet. Then, I started to flip through the Prevention Magazine to see if there was any other articles I could share with you. While I was still "discussing" this with him, I turn a few pages and come upon this article. This is why I had to laugh. And yes, I did read it to him......

Turning down the volume could save your life. Every day noises - ringing cell phones, growling trucks on your commute - may up your heart attack risk, suggests a new study. Greater noise exposure was linked to increased heart rate and decreased heart rate variability, tow risk factors for cardiac problems. "Any noise that causes stress leads to a surge in sympathetic nervous systam activity," says Seth Goldbarg, MD, an electrophysiologist at New York Hospital. "This spikes heart rate and constricts blood vessels." Protect yourself:

Tune it out: White noise can reduce your sympathetic nervous system's response to minor but disruptive noises. Try the free White Noise Lite app for Android & iphone

Get Geared up: For louder noise, invest in sound-blocking gear, such as Bose QuietComfort 15 Acoustic Hoise Cancelling Headphones ($300;bose.com), which "cancel" noise by producing a counteracting sound wave.

Take Deep Breaths: Dial down your body's response to racket by taking slow, deep breaths - each lasting 10 seconds- for 10 minutes at work or during a noisy commute.

Forest Medicine ~ Inhale the cancer fighting power of the woods

Another article from Prevention Magazine.
I'm finding that this magazine has some valuable info for people and their health. Especially women..

This time of year, Japan's Akasawa Natural Recreation Forest is a hot spot for people to experience Shinrin-yoku or "forest bathing." This practice, which involves walking through a forest and breathing in its moist earthy air, has been touted as effective preventive medicine in Japan since 1982 and new research suggests why:

Forest bathing, not only reduces stress and blood pressure but also increases the activity of the immune system's powerful cancer-fighting natural killer (NK) cells. Researchers attribute many of the benefits to woodland aromatherapy- that is, breathing in phytoncides (essential oils) produced by plants and trees to fight off insects and rot. Trees release healing essential oils, so go take a woodland hike!

Barefoot Benefits

I found this article in the Prevention magazine. I think it's quite interesting that this had to be scientifically proven and given a name for some people to take interest. It's called Earthing...

Either way, it's valid information that everyone should practice at least once a day, myself included.

___________________________________________________________________________________

Barefoot Benefits

Go Ahead, kick off your shoes. Provocative new research suggests that a practice called Earthing - walking around barefoot or putting any body part in the direct contact with the ground - may decrease pain and improve heart health. "You're absorbing the earth's negatively charged electrons," says Stephen Sinatra, MD, earthing researcher and cardiologist. "They act similarly to antioxidants, balancing out positive free radicals that contribute to inflammation." Just 20 minutes of earthing eases pain and inflammation; 40 minutes begins to reduce blood viscosity - thick blood may lead to heart attacks and strokes in vulnerable people, suggests Dr. Sinatra's research. To enjoy the benefits go shoeless in your garden, wiggle your toes in the sand, walk on the grass or take a dip in a river, ocean or hot springs.

How to raise your Spiritual Frequency

Raising your vibration refers to raising your spiritual frequency. Think of it as a scale with someone like Jack the Ripper at one end and Jesus Christ at the other. Raising your vibration increases your awareness and brings you closer to fulfilling your soul’s growth. Psychic abilities develop at higher vibrations too.
The following tips are just some of the ways you can raise your vibration, but are by no means all.

Purify Your Body

Toxins lower your energy and your vibration, remove cigarettes, alcohol, animal products, refined foods, pesticides, and smog/pollution from your life. Instead, eat fresh fruits and vegetables, whole grains, legumes, nuts, seeds, and try to buy organic wherever possible. Live where the air is fresh and people aren’t blowing smoke at you.

When you genuinely and compassionately help others you automatically raise your vibration.

Take A Social Inventory

Whichever 6 people you spend the most time with you are most likely to emulate. So who are you hanging around with? Who do you spend the most time with? What are they like?
Are they honest, peaceful, loving, kind and compassionate people? Or are they pessimistic, argumentative, greedy, selfish louts who lie, cheat, and steal their way through life?
If you’re around people who vibrate at a low frequency, you’ll be hard pressed to keep your energy high.

Meditate

Meditation will raise your vibration. When you quiet your mind it gives Source an opportunity to reach you. All you have to do is listen. You don’t have to chant and sit in a funny position that will cause your feet to fall asleep.
Just sit in a chair or lie in your bed, take some deep breaths, do a visual meditation or just quiet your mind. Start asking questions and see if you hear any answers.

Practice Compassion

When you genuinely and compassionately help others you automatically raise your vibration. The best way for me to break out of the negative is to remember how blessed you are and help someone less fortunate than yourself.

Keep A Journal

Use a journal to explore your personal growth. Self-discovery is awesome! It definitely raises your vibration. When you know that you are the only one in the world who will read your journal then you feel safe to explore your own psyche. Once you get going you might even be able to channel messages from your higher self.

Take Salt Baths

I suggest people take salt baths after they have been in a hospital, doctors office, stressful work environment, around an emotionally upsetting environment or around a lot of people.
Add about 1 1/2 Cups of Himalayan sea salt or any kind of salt to your bath at night. When you are done, wash the salt water off of your body. The salt will draw out negative energy from your chakra and energy fields you may have picked up from others.

Benefits Of Higher Vibrations

We are awakening and returning to our truth, which also means we need to learn how to take care of our energy. Raising our vibration is our responsibility and it is also part of our mastery.
Bringing in the Light of God daily meditation is also a wonderful thing to do as the light will come into your being and transmute density, as well as, balance your energy fields.
Raising your vibration heightens your awareness, develops telepathy, intuition, and increases "ESP" abilities in which to live your life in a more conscious manner.
This expanded awareness of energy also helps to open and develop channels of communication from other realms of Light Beings, Spirit Guides, and Nature Spirits.

Final Thoughts

Again, these are just a few ways to increase your vibration. Listening to music, exercising, and volunteering your time will work too. Anything you do that taps into your heart and your joy will raise your vibration.
With continued practice this will be quick and easy for you to do everyday. The more you practice, the stronger your energy field and ability to create change will become!
